On Sunday, March 23, former Maize Senior High School standouts Brynley Smith and Kennedy Topping’s current college team, the Emporia State Hornets, lost 11-1 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the Pittsburg State Gorillas.

The game took place at PSU Softball Field. This was their second matchup against the Gorillas this season.

The Hornets’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, March 29 at 12 p.m. at Trusler Sports Complex against Fort Hays State Tigers.
