Sunday, March 16: Valley Center High School standout Sykora Smith’s college team wins to Evansville Purple Aces

On Sunday, March 16, former Valley Center High School standout Sykora Smith’s current college team, the Northern Iowa Panthers, won 12-9 in their NCAA Division I softball game against the Evansville Purple Aces.

The game took place at Tri-State Orthopaedics Field at James & Dorothy Cooper Stadium. This was their third matchup against the Purple Aces this season.

The Panthers’ next game is scheduled for Friday, March 21 at 5 p.m. at Flames Field against UIC Flames.
