On Sunday, Feb. 2, three former Valley Center High School standouts, including Alex Gillig, DJ Michaud and Jared Newton’s current college team, the Newman Jets, lost 12-9 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the New Mexico Highlands Cowboys.

The game took place at Feland Field (Cypert Athletic Complex). This was their second matchup against the Cowboys this season.

The Jets’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at Glass Family Field at Myers Stadium against Northwestern Oklahoma State Rangers.
