We're anticipating the Hesston Road project will move to its third stage next week. Along with it, the portion of the road included in the second stage is close to reopening.
The second stage is the roadway from Northwest 48th Street to the Hesston city limit. Shoulder work, permanent striping and permanent signing on that section will begin later this week and should be wrapped up early next week. When that's completed, Hesston Road will reopen in full between the Hesston and Newton city limits.
The resurfacing project will next move northwest of Hesston mid-to-late next week. The third stage will start at West Dutch Avenue and move toward the county line at Northwest 108th Street. That section of road will be closed to traffic in both directions during the project, so please be planning for an alternate route.
After work is completed in the third stage, the project will move inside the Hesston city limits. The entire Hesston Road project is anticipated to be completed in December. We appreciate everyone's patience as this road improvement project progresses!
