Hesston Road / Old US Highway 81 Resurfacing Project
Stage 4: Hesston City Limits
Road Will Stay Open

Project Location: Hesston Road / Old US Highway 81 – inside city limits, starting from West Hickory Road thru to West Dutch Ave.

Monday, Oct. 10th: Traffic control will be setup to allow road to stay open. Pearson Construction will set equipment in place.

Tuesday, Oct. 11th: Milling will begin near the intersection of Hickory Road and Hesston Road / Old US Highway 81. The complete road will be milled first. The contractor will use flaggers to direct traffic, never allowing the road to be completely shut down. Pearson Construction estimates 2 days to complete all milling. The cross streets can still be used. Once milling is completed, one lane at a time will be close for concrete patching. After patching is completed, the asphalt overlay will be applied one lane at a time.

Notes: During this resurfacing project, the short stretch of Randall Rd from Ridge Road to Hesston Road / Old US Highway 81 will be closed for safety.
For ease of maneuvering the intersection on the East end of town by Stone Creek Nursery is completed and open.

Completion: Anticipated to be completed in November. The amount of patching that needs to be done as well as the weather may affect completion time.
