Harvey County voting information for 2022 general election

Harvey County will hold a general election in 2022. This election cycle includes races for federal, state, county and township seats, as well as judicial retentions, two Kansas constitutional amendment questions and a school bond question for voters in Newton USD 373.

Election Day for the general is Nov. 8. There are several additional dates to keep in mind, as well.

  • Oct. 18: Voter registration deadline for the general election
  • Oct. 19: Mail ballots begin to be mailed to those that have requested one
  • Oct. 25: Early in-person voting begins at the Harvey County Courthouse (800 N. Main St., Newton)
  • Nov. 1: Last day to request a mail ballot
  • Nov. 7: Last day to vote early in person at the Courthouse (ends at noon)
  • Nov. 8: Election Day
  • Nov. 15: Election canvass.

Sample ballots by precinct can be found here. Voters can register to vote, or update their registration information, through the Harvey County Clerk’s Office or online.

Early in-person voting will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Oct. 25. Early voting will also be available Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Early voting concludes Monday, Nov. 7 at noon. Voters will need to vote at their poll site on Election Day after early voting has concluded.

Advance-by-mail ballots can be returned in the return envelope with the voter’s signature. Advance ballots can be returned several ways:

  • Mail the ballot back to the Harvey County Clerk’s Office
  • Place the completed ballot in one of two ballot drop boxes in Harvey County: on the south side of the Harvey County Courthouse (800 N. Main St., Newton) or at Newton Fire/EMS Station 3 (2520 S. Kansas Ave., Newton)
  • Bring the ballot to the Clerk’s Office inside the Harvey County Courthouse
  • Take the ballot to a poll site on Election Day.
