With the completion of remodeling at 215 S. Pine St. in Newton, Harvey County is moving more of its offices from the courthouse to the Pine Street location.
The Harvey County Department on Aging will close for in-person services from February 26 to March 5 as it relocates to the first floor of the new building. The department plans to reopen at its new site on March 6.
During this transition, transportation services through Harvey County Interurban will continue without interruption. For questions about ridership or scheduling, residents can contact Interurban at 316-284-6802.
Following this move, the Harvey County Appraiser’s Office is scheduled to relocate next. The office expects to be closed from March 18 to March 24 and aims to resume operations on the third floor of the Pine Street building by March 25. These dates may change if necessary.
County officials note that walk-in and phone services could be disrupted during each department’s move. Residents are encouraged to use email for communication; contact information is available on the county’s website.
Previously, the Planning, Zoning and Environmental Department and Geographic Information System office moved into their first-floor spaces last fall. Kansas State Extension – Harvey County finished its move to the third floor in January. The Health Department has remained operational on the second floor throughout renovations that began in January 2025.
Harvey County purchased the Pine Street property in November 2022 for $430,000 as part of efforts to address space needs for court-related functions at the courthouse.
