Prior to being nominated and selected to become a judge, Llamas operated a local law practice for more than a decade. He also has experience as a municipal judge. Llamas was born and raised in Newton.

“I wanted to serve this community,” Llamas said. “I wanted to help people, and that’s why I chose the profession that I did.”

During the ceremony, Llamas took a moment to recognize the memory of his mother for her encouragement and support throughout his career.

“Mom, I made it,” he said.
